Suspension of Curbside Recycling

Due to the financial impact of COVID-19, the City of El Lago has suspended curbside recycling for the coming fiscal year.  The last day for curbside recycling pick-up will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020.  City Council and staff worked hard this year to outline a budget that kept the potential hardships residents have faced in mind and sought to offset some of the monetary impact this turbulent year has caused— which included ensuring that property taxes were not raised. Unfortunately, this also means that the City must take a more conservative approach to the budget in the new fiscal year.

Recycling will be available to those who would like to drop it off at the large recycle bin located at McNair Park.  AmeriWaste can offer individual curbside recycling accounts if 50% of the residents of El Lago are interested in enrolling.  Please complete this survey to let them know if you are interested in enrolling.

Further, the blue recycle bins belonging to AmeriWaste will be collected from residences on October 14th so please have all of your blue bins out that day for pick-up on the last recycling collection day.
